NZ owned and operated
Heartland has been supporting New Zealanders since 1875 and remains NZ owned and operated. Like the Black Clash, Heartland likes to do things differently – its focus is on providing products which are the best or only of their kind in New Zealand, such as self-serve online home loans, flexible business lending, rural finance and reverse mortgages.
Savings Bank of the Year (four years in a row!)
Heartland is always looking for new ways to grow, deliver more for its customers and adapt to their needs – including helping customers meet their savings goals. In 2021, Heartland was awarded Canstar’s Savings Bank of the Year for the fourth year in a row for its competitive savings products.
Making banking digital
We live in an increasingly digital world, and Heartland’s aim is to help customers bank smarter and easier. With online loan applications and the ability to bank from anywhere at any time, Heartland’s digital platforms and mobile app are like having a bank branch at the touch of your fingers.
Fostering a diverse workspace
Heartland is committed to celebrating and embracing te reo and tikanga Māori, and creating a work environment where Māori can succeed as Māori. It does this in part through the its Manawa Ako internship programme. The programme is designed to offer rangatahi Māori the opportunity to explore an industry where they are significantly underrepresented, while giving Heartland a chance to learn from the perspectives of a skilled talent pool.
Kiwis supporting Kiwis
Helping local communities is incredibly important to Heartland. The Heartland Trust is a registered charitable trust which is independent from but closely supported by Heartland. Each year, the Heartland Trust aims to provide a positive social impact through a range of sponsorships to organisations and communities.
